PASSWORDS AND SECURITY ON YOUR MAC

In this class you will learn:

  • How best to keep your Mac secure by choosing the correct security settings.

  • Find out if you really need any external anti-virus or malware software.

  • Learn how to use your Mac’s built in password manager, ‘Keychain’, how it can create unique long secure passwords that you never have to remember or write down, and how your passwords will sync across all your Apple devices.

  • Learn to use Apple’s “Hide My Email” feature to control the email addresses you give out to websites and how to stop them from spamming you.

  • This class is for Mac computers only, even though we will talk about syncing these settings to iPads and iPhones we will only be choosing settings on a Mac. You can bring your laptop which needs to upgraded to macOS 13 Ventura or use the Macs in the lab. A class outline handout for note taking will be available.
